This is an interesting analogy, using Star Wars to help people understand semi-autonomous driving assists. Reminds me somewhat of how Grand Theft Auto V was used by researchers to teach AI how to drive/algorithms how to identify/classify objects (ie "that's a vehicle", "that's a sidewalk", etc.) - a dangerous proposition, yet equally as good (given that the game's AI drivers are really bad, which could actually teach the AI how to be safer drivers & expect unpredictable behaviour). The I first mentioned article in The Verge (the analogy) One article about Grand Theft Auto V being used to teach AI how to drive The official report about using GTA to teach AI how to drive
Great shots and very informative. I've been meaning to go by there and check it out.
