Star Wars used as analogy to help people understand semi-autonomous driving assists

This is an interesting analogy, using Star Wars to help people understand semi-autonomous driving assists. Reminds me somewhat of how Grand Theft Auto V was used by researchers to teach AI how to drive/algorithms how to identify/classify objects (ie "that's a vehicle", "that's a sidewalk", etc.) -  a dangerous proposition, yet equally as good (given that the game's AI drivers are really  bad, which could actually teach the AI how to be safer drivers & expect unpredictable behaviour). The I first mentioned article in The Verge  (the analogy) One article about Grand Theft Auto V being used to teach AI how to drive The official report about using GTA to teach AI how to drive

People can hear a silent GIF bouncing

This is definitely interesting. I don't personally hear it "bouncing" but it is interesting that some can. Weird. Check out the article in The Verge  now! https://www.theverge.com/2017/12/4/16733778/noisy-gif-hearing-movement-auditory-neuroscience-synesthesia

Facebook launches a version of Messenger for kids

I just read an interesting article in  The Verge , apparently Facebook has now rolled out a new Facebook "Messenger" app designed for those under the age of 13 (called "Messenger Kids"). The app does not require a Facebook account (under US law, it can't) and allows parents to manually approve whoever they come in contact with. Facebook has said that it will  not  use the child's information for ads and that ads will not  be on the service. "Messenger Kids is primarily designed to offer video and text chat along with the types of playful masks and filters, originally popularized by Snapchat, that are now prevalent across Facebook’s many messaging products. Audio assignment

I know I'm a bit late (in posting this here), but here is a link to my audio assignment. For those wondering (in order) the sounds are  CFAX  1070 (radio alarm), mouse clicks, keyboard, shower turning on/off, front door open/close, and car starting. https://soundcloud.com/kyle-wilson-709206146/cmns-150-audio-assignment-v2
